Basic Fiber Photometry System

The conventional fiber photometry systems for behaving animals consist of Fiber Photometry Console (FPC), LED driver, an integrated FMC, Pigtailed 1x1 Fiber-optic Rotary Joint, and Mono Fiber-optic Cannula (FMC). The fiber-optic rotary joint transfers the light signals and allows fiber tether rotation. Currently, we offer LED light sources for GCaMP, GCaMP with Red Fluo, and FRET(CFP/YFP). Explore the possibility of customization with other light sources and fluorophores.

The GCaMP Fiber Photometry System records calcium-independent GCaMP fluorescence excited by 405 nm light (isosbestic point), and its calcium-dependent fluorescence excited by 470 nm light with a single photodetector. Those fluorescence emissions can be demodulated by lock-in amplifier detection or by interleaved excitations.
The GCaMP Fiber Photometry System includes:
- Fiber Photometry Console, the core of the system
- 2-channel LED Driver to control LED power
- Fluorescence Mini Cube - GCaMP with built-in LEDs and a detector
- Doric Neuroscience Studio software
Optional items:
- Pigtailed 1x1 Fiber-optic Rotary Joint with Holder (fixed and gimbal)
- Pigtailed 2x2 Fiber-optic Rotary Joint with Holder
- Fiber Photometry Cannula Holder to record during surgery

The GCaMP with Red Opsin Fiber Photometry System measures calcium-independent GCaMP fluorescence excited by 405 nm light (isosbestic point), and its calcium-dependent fluorescence excited by 470 nm light with a single photodetector. Those fluorescence emissions can be demodulated by lock-in amplifier detection or by interleaved excitations. It also features an optical fiber input port to connect to red opsin activation or inhibition light source.

The GCaMP & Red Fluophore Fiber Photometry System measures calcium-independent GCaMP fluorescence excited by 405 nm light (isosbestic point), and its calcium-dependent fluorescence excited by 470 nm light with a single photodetector. A second detector records the fluorescence of Red fluorophores excited with a 560 nm LED. The calcium-dependent GCaMP's fluorescence emissions are demodulated from its calcium-independent emissions by lock-in amplifier detection or by interleaved excitations.
