Wireless Fiber Photometry System
-
Wireless Fiber Photometry System provides a cable-free solution for fiber photometry experiments in freely-moving animals. The Base Station can support up to four wireless headstages simultaneously, enabling records from mutliple animals in the same cage. This system is ideal for those studying neural populations underlying social behaviors. The Wireless Fiber Photometry headstage is a lightweight, wearable device that wireless transmits data from its low consumption photodetector. It is designed for single-site recordings of green or red indicators from two excitations; isosbestic (405 or 415 nm) and functional (470 or 560 nm). The headstage transmits data in real-time to the base station, at up to 2 meters away. The standard version includes a 1.2 grams rechargeable battery that lasts up to 1.5 hours and is compatible with 2.5 mm ferrules cannulas.
In addition to the fiber photometry recording, the headstage provides information on the acceleration with an embedded inertial measurement unit (IMU).The system requires NC500 console and interfaces with Doric Neuroscience Studio. The Wireless Fiber Photometry system recording quality is comparable to signals recorded by Doric tethered systems. -
