Electrophysiology and Fiber Photometry Console
-
This FPGA-based console supports two-way wireless or tethered communication between the computer and the FiWi or tethered ephys headstages. At the beginning of the experiment, the console sends to the headstage the electrophysiological recording parameters and the fiber photometry excitation sequence defined in the Doric Neuroscience Studio (DNS) software. The recording or light delivery can also be triggered by external sources like an optical gate, tracking software, etc.
The Electrophysiology and Fiber Photometry Console can simultaneously handle up to 2 FiWi Headstages and one tethered headstage. FiWi headstages support live streaming of 4 electrophysiological recording traces at 10 kHz and optogenetics stimulation. The tethered headstage can record 4 electrodes at 25 kHz, 8 electrodes at 20 kHz, or 16 electrodes at 10 kHz. Additionally, the tethered headstage can livestream one fiber photometry trace. The recorded data can be displayed, commented on, saved, and recalled with DNS software.
