The DazzLED Drivers provide precise current control for DazzLED light sources, ensuring stable light output, accurate intensity modulation, and reliable performance. In addition, the DazzLED Driver regulates the current delivered to the DazzLED, protecting it from damage while enabling reproducible illumination for demanding photostimulation experiments.
In standalone mode, all DazzLED Drivers support continuous-wave (CW) operation and external analog modulation (up to 10 kHz) through a dedicated BNC input, allowing seamless integration with function generators, DAQ systems, and other laboratory equipment. Each channel also includes a current monitoring BNC output, enabling real-time recording of the LED drive signal or synchronization with external devices.
When controlled through Doric Neuroscience Studio (DNS), the DazzLED Drivers provide a wide range of advanced operating modes, including CW, TTL modulation, square-wave stimulation, custom stimulation protocols, and complex multi-step illumination patterns, eliminating the need for an external function generator. For applications requiring higher peak irradiance, DNS also supports low-duty-cycle pulsed overdrive, allowing LEDs to temporarily exceed their continuous power rating while remaining within safe operating limits.
For enhanced laboratory safety, all DazzLED Drivers include a keylock switch and safety interlock connector. These features are particularly important when operating high-power UV or near-infrared LEDs.
This driver can be connected to the Light Source Remote Controller, enabling a computer-free solution.
