The 6 ports Bundle-imaging Fluorescence Mini Cube (BFMC6) features 3 excitation ports with LED light sources, 2 detector ports with CMOS sensors, and sample port with SMA fiber optic receptacle for fiber bundle.
It combines GCaMP's isosbestic excitation with 400-410, 410-420, 421-433, or 433-445 nm light and fluorescence excitation with 460-490nm light. The red fluorophore is excited with 555-570nm light. The CMOS detection window for GCaMP fluorescence is from 500 to 540nm and 580 to 680nm for Red fluorophore. The separation of detected isosbestic and functional fluorescence signals is possible if their excitation signals are interleaved. The field of view of its microscope objective is 2.5 mm, which limits applicable bundle diameter.
