  • For users having Doric Lenses products and that would like to upgrade the Doric Neuroscience Studio software from version 5 to version 6, there is a few important information to read before proceeding.

     DNS v6 requires a firmware update of the hardware 
    This is done by the user with a software called Doric Maintenance Tool included in the installation file.  Detailed documentation will be added soon, but in principle, using the 'Check for server updates' and 'Update from server' buttons should work fine.

    DNS v6 is saving data into an HDF5 file having extension .doric
    Files saved with DNS v6 can be analyzed in the DNS v6 data analyzer modules, but not in previous versions 5.  It is possible to read the files with other software.  Matlab, Octave, and Python code examples are given to facilitate data analysis with external applications :

  • Doric Neuroscience Studio is an intuitive software suite with multiple modalities to control Doric hardware, record and analyze data in optogenetics, fiber photometry, miniature fluorescence microscopy, electrophysiology, and behavior cameras experiments.

    Doric Neuroscience Studio software incorporates different modules for each device connected. The existing modules allow you to:

    Device Control
    • Light sources (LED, Laser Diode, CeYAG, ★LISER™)
    • Fiber Photometry Console and Bundle Imaging system
    • Miniature Fluorescence Microscope
    • Electrophysiology Recording Headstage
    • Optogenetics TTL Pulse Generator
    • Behavior Camera

    In addition to controlling the devices, the software contains freely available analysis modules that can be used to process data acquired from the different systems.

    Data Analysis
    • Microscopy image Analysis module (align film, ΔF/F, ...)
    • Signal Analysis module (filters, arithmetics, spike finding, airPLS baseline correction, ΔF/F, ...)
    • Behavior Tracking Analysis module (open-field tracking, travel distance and speed)
